Cake is the practical answer if you want the coin with you rather than tied to one desktop. The wallet itself is solid, and the phone it lives on becomes part of your setup.

What it does well

Self custody on both mobile platforms, Tor routing available, and a straightforward send flow. For somebody funding occasional orders it removes the friction of needing a particular machine to be switched on.

What the phone adds

A device that travels with you, gets handed to people, and may be unlocked more casually than a desktop. Set a real device lock rather than a short code, and keep the wallet behind its own passphrase where the application supports it. The wallet security is only as good as the device it sits on.

Seed handling

Same rule as any wallet, with one extra trap. Do not let the seed end up in a phone note, a cloud backup or a screenshot, since all three sync somewhere by default. Paper, off the device.

When to prefer desktop

For larger balances or anything you want to hold rather than spend soon. A phone is a spending wallet, and treating it as a vault is how people lose coin to a lost device rather than to anything sophisticated.
