How escrow holds an Anubis order

Escrow is why somebody you have never met ships before being paid out. Understanding its boundaries matters as much as understanding how it works.

The arrangement

An order payment sits at an address requiring two of three keys to move, held separately by you, the vendor and the market. No party can move it alone. The vendor can see the order is funded and cannot reach the money, and the market cannot quietly reassign it.

The normal path

You fund the order and the coin locks into escrow. The vendor ships. When the package arrives and matches, you confirm receipt, your key and the vendor key release the payment, and the order closes.

When it goes wrong

Open a dispute instead of confirming. The market key becomes the deciding vote and staff weigh what each side shows against the vendor record. Keep the submission short and factual, with the order reference and dates first, because arbitration compares two accounts against whatever the market recorded rather than judging who argues better.

What escrow does not cover

A balance sitting on the market outside an active order. That is not protected by anything and is exposed to whatever happens to the market. Deposit for the order in front of you and withdraw the rest.

The action that voids it

Confirming receipt before goods arrive releases the payment and removes the dispute route in the same click. Some sellers ask. On anyone untested, decline it as a standing policy rather than a judgement, because telling a legitimate request from a fraudulent one is exactly what a buyer cannot do.
